Verdant’s optional HVAC Controllers are versatile in-room devices that enable wireless thermostat control of most HVAC systems. The HVAC Controller receives power from the controlled HVAC unit and can fit discreetly inside most packaged units.  

Each HVAC Controller has up to 9 terminals with 7 onboard relays to control standard HVAC systems, while up to 2 auxiliary outputs can be used to control mechanical devices such as lighting relays, dampers or smart plugs, providing a simpler and more cost-effective path to building code compliance.  

The device is also capable of sending and receiving an analog signal of 0-10VDC, thereby enabling control of modulating valves and fans. Input terminals can be used to integrate a variety of external sensors, including CO2, pressure, light intensity and more.  

The HVAC Controller also comes with RS485 Modbus communication, enabling the control of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) indoor units without a 24VAC adapter. The direct communication capabilities preserve the optimal control required to drive VRF, VRV and other proprietary HVAC systems.  

The HVAC controller can provide 12VDC from terminals 12 and 13 to power the wall unit avoiding the usage of batteries. Ensure wiring is sized correctly and respects any local codes.
