Verdant integrates with 40+ property management systems

Verdant connects to the property management system (PMS), so every check-in and check-out sets the right comfort or energy-saving profile in the guestroom. No staff action. No thermostats to adjust. No empty rooms using energy.

Guest activity sets the energy profile

When a guest checks in, Verdant moves the room to a comfort profile. When the guest checks out, Verdant moves the room to an energy-saving profile. Guests stay comfortable, and the property stops heating and cooling unoccupied rooms.

Three ways Verdant connects to a PMS

Verdant supports cloud platforms, on-site systems, and platforms reached through middleware. Verdant matches the connection method to the property's setup.

Cloud

Remote setup

The PMS sends guest events to the Verdant cloud over a secure connection. No on-site work.

On-property

On-site setup

Verdant equipment at the property connects to the on-site PMS server. Guest details stay on-site.

Middleware

On-site setup

The PMS sends guest events to a middleware interface, which relays them to Verdant equipment at the property.

Cloud integrations

Remote setup

No hardware and no on-site work. Verdant configures cloud integrations remotely, and each one works with any generation of Verdant equipment.

On-property integrations

On-site setup

On-property integrations run as software on the Verdant equipment already at the property. Verdant completes the on-site connection, and the PMS vendor enables the interface on its side. Connection requirements vary by PMS.

On-property equipment requirements. Current-generation Verdant equipment supports all four on-property systems. Earlier-generation equipment supports Hilton PEP only. For a property with earlier-generation equipment and a PMS that needs a serial connection, the options are an equipment upgrade or, where the PMS offers one, a cloud integration.

Middleware integrations

On-site setup

Verdant integrates with a middleware interface that already communicates with a wide range of PMS platforms. The PMS passes check-in and check-out status to the middleware, and the middleware passes it to Verdant. One on-site connection covers all 36 platforms.

PMS integration FAQ

How Verdant behaves once the PMS is connected.

What happens when a guest moves rooms?

Verdant treats a room move as a check-out of the old room followed by a check-in of the new room, so both rooms end in the correct state. Room-move events are currently supported on the Maestro integration. On other systems, a move is reflected by the check-out and check-in events the PMS sends.

Can Verdant prepare a reserved room before the guest arrives?

Yes. An optional reserved profile keeps a booked room ready without fully conditioning it ahead of arrival.

Who sets the comfort and energy-saving profiles?

The property does. Every room state maps to a profile the property configures, including how aggressive the savings are and how quickly rooms recover to comfort. Verdant applies the right profile as guests come and go.

  • Occupied: holds a comfortable temperature within a tight band.
  • Reserved: keeps a booked room ready, but not fully conditioned.
  • Vacant: widens the temperature range and enables setback.
What can staff see and control in the Verdant web app?
  • A room-occupancy floor plan, color-coded occupied or empty, with temperature, alerts, and last update on hover.
  • Occupancy and PMS-status columns and filters on the room list.
  • Dashboard widgets for Rooms Checked In and Rooms Occupied.
  • The current energy profile applied to each room.
  • Energy profile mapping for each PMS status.
  • Bulk profile assignment from the floor-plan view.
  • Role-based permissions.
How does a property confirm the PMS connection is working?

The Network Status page shows the PMS type in use, whether the link is online, and the time of the last event received. It is available in both the Verdant web application and Thermostat Solutions.

What happens if the PMS connection drops?

Rooms fall back to a safe default profile instead of staying on the wrong setting. The Verdant integration reconnects automatically and keeps the link alive through PMS restarts and network interruptions.

What guest data does Verdant receive?

With a cloud integration, the PMS sends room and reservation status to Verdant. With an on-property integration, guest names, VIP status, and loyalty details are read on-site and never sent to the cloud. Only room number and status leave the building. Events are logged locally, so any integration question can be traced and resolved.

How does onboarding work?

Verdant handles the integration as part of onboarding.

  1. Verdant identifies the PMS platform and the best connection method.
  2. For on-site systems, the PMS vendor enables the guest-event interface, and Verdant configures the on-property connection.
  3. Verdant sets default profiles: comfort for check-in, savings for check-out.
  4. The property refines the profiles to match its comfort and savings goals.
Does Verdant integrate with door-lock systems?

Yes. Verdant also integrates with in-room door-lock systems, such as Onity, for related guestroom automation. A Verdant representative can provide details.
